the verb peux and its negatives

"Je n'apprends pas seulement des connaissances mais je peux aussi apprendre comment communiquer et bien progresser avec les autres à l'école."

In French, in that case we just put the negation before the verb without the verb "can", because your sentence isn't really negative , you add something after. If you want to say that you can't really do something you say: " Je ne peux pas + verb"
